A.S. Face 2043: Christa Seats
My name is Christa Seats. I am 47 years old. I have had AS since I was 16. My dad had it & when I started showing signs my parents took me to several doctors & none of them would diagnose me with AS even though I carried the gene, my dad had it & I had all of the symptoms. I used to sleep on the couch with my knees curled up into my chest up against the back of the couch to get relief since I could get no help from doctors. Later in life, I was finally diagnosed after they realized it wasn’t just a man disease. I have tried many treatments but until I got Crohn’s disease & they put me in Humira for that I have never felt so good. I had it terrible. I was in a wheelchair off & on, even bedridden through the years. These days I am feeling pretty good. I have 4 sisters & 3 of them have it as well.
