I created this website so people could read “The Faces of Ankylosing Spondylitis” in their native language. It allows you the ability to locate a story by name, gender or location; you can type the first or last name in the search box located on the top left side, and to the right midway on the page, you will find the categories divided by gender and location. The original website is http://thefacesofankylosingspondylitis.com

A.S. Face 0225: Sille S.
A.S. Face 0225: Sille S.
I’m 41 years old, married and mother of two adopted children. I have AS. My first symptoms were at the age of 17, I was finally diagnosed at the age of 37. Remicade and mtx are my weapons of choice and the reason that I’m able to get out of bed and walk, run and dance almost every day of the year. I live in Denmark and so my medical costs are covered by the state. My luck. I often think of all those of you in constant battle with insurance companies and I pray that one day with the help of sites like this, that particular battle will be a little easier.

A.S. Face 0166: Tina Nielsen
A.S. Face 0166: Tina Nielsen
I’m Tina, 29 years old and from Denmark.
I was diagnosed with AS in 2007 after 4 years of pain. I am HLAB27 positive. In the beginning the doctors didn’t believe in me, when I told them I was in pain, and I was send home many times without any help. I knew something was wrong (I felt the PAIN!!!) and didn’t give up the struggle to find out, what was costing me this bad pain. After 4 years the answer was AS.
Luckily Enbrel is working for me now, so I can live a normal life without to much pain – though it’s still there. I try to find all the positive things in life and appreciate them, that keeps me positive, and as long as I’m positive, I don’t give up the fight against AS.
Love to you all from Denmark
Tina
