A.S. Face 1439: Jeanine Maria

A.S. Face 1439: Jeanine Marie

Face 1439
At 6 mos psoriasis began to spread on my head my mother & grandmother would scrape it with a metal comb weekly.
By 5 I woke up not being able to move my legs I was so terrified I would scream for my mother.
Explaining I could not move
They took me to drs
The drs said it’s not broken
Go to a rheumy
The rhuemy said it’s not RA
It’s growing pains
We dealt w the pain w children’s Tylenol and ice packs
The winter got better
But psoriasis got worse
Then puberty kicked in and I begged for something anything
My mother took me back to the ped rhuemy and it was like the heavens opened up
She asked all these questions that made sense
Asked me about my pain
And then she said I know what you have
I was so happy to have an answer
Unfortunately she could only give me NSAIDs but that gave me stomach discomfort
So we dealt w heating pads and ice packs
By 19 I wanted to “take charge” of medical care so I went to an adult rhuemy who introduced me to Celebrex I took that for two years felt amazing, lost fifty pounds began running two miles a day.
Then out of nowhere my colitis ensued,  the pain was horrific
Then was taken off of Celebrex
We had nightmares of the pain returning which it did and had to deal with the Gi issues!!!
But with research and follow through of my own I pushed through and found biologicals
I came to my rhuemy with the info and we went forward with it.  It was the best decision I ever made
I am 70% in recovery w a biological
I have a degenerative knee that will eventually need a replacement but I do aquatic classes and try to remain as mobile as possible
