A.S. Face 0975: Kelly
My name is Kelly. I am a 27 year old single mother of a beautiful 4 year old boy named Logan. I was diagnosed with AS approximately 2 years ago following my dads diagnosis. I have struggled with extremely painful flare ups in my hips and lower back which cause my lower back to swell the size of a softball. I do my best to keep active and moving to lessen the pain level and to keep flexible and mobile. About 7 weeks ago I finally, after 10+ years of unexplainable pain, had an MRI on my pelvic/hip region and they found heavy erosion of my right SI joint and significant bone marrow edema. I have now been taking Methotrexate for the past 5 weeks and have not seen improvement thus far but am still very hopeful. Thank you all for the listening to my short story.
