hi I was finally diagnosed in 2005 aged 31 after years of suffering.ive had back pain on and off since i was a kid but doctors always said it was”growing pains”.around 2000-01 it started to get worse and more often and was told by numerous doctors to just take painkillers,after finally getting x-rays done they still couldn’t see what the problem was so i lost faith in doctors so stopped going to see them.i then started trying different things such as seeing a chiropractor and chinese medicine which only offered short-term relief,meanwhile my symptoms were getting worse.the pain was unbearable,i couldn’t sleep at night and end up crying in frustration.in 2005 i moved to glasgow with my mother to be near my sister who had just adopted a little girl named emma,and they combined in nagging me to go to see a doctor and get something done about my condition.the help i received from my gp and specialist doctor has been excellent,they diagnosed me gave medication and physiotherapy and i finally had a name for my condition,which was a big relief.last year i joined facebook and joined this support group and found out i was not alone in dealing with the ups and downs of this frustrating affliction.
