A.S.Face 0096: Andrew Morren

A.S. Face 0096: Andrew Morren

my name is andrew morren, and i am lucky. i see people who are far worse-off than i am, every single day. i see people who will never get any better. people who die for things they don’t deserve. i see psychologically distraught individuals, cancer-ridden mothers, deformed babies. starving children, mistreated animals, heartbroken lovers.
i was diagnosed with AS three years ago. my life may never be the same, but it doesn’t have to be awful. having this condition does not mean that my life ends. it is not terminal, and it is not my destiny.
ankylosing spondylitis will not define me.
i will be 25 years old in 2 months. i am vegetarian, and live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. it’s pretty cold here, which doesn’t help the fact that  i have inflammation in my toes, knees, hips, si joints, spine, shoulder blades, neck, elbows, wrists and fingers. i also have iritis. i am currently taking Simponi and it’s doing decently.
next month marks the one year anniversary of giving up on my dream of being a professional musician, due to AS.
i am currently working on a solo album, and managing a band.  i blog. read it if you’re bored.
