A.S. Face 0822: Christopher Pressler

A.S. Face 0822: Christopher Pressler

Face 822
I was diagnosed with A. S. about 8 years ago, but had always had joint pain since I was about 25. I have been on almost every med there is to fight A. S. including Remicade, Embrel, Humira, Methotrexate, plaquenil, you name it I have had it. Nothing seems to work well for me and I kept getting pneumonia and being hospitalized. the last time I was in the hospital for 17 days. My Rheumatologist has taken of all meds except Plaqquenil. She had also put me on Gabapintin which is an anti-seizure medicine that blocks the nerve impulse to the brain. Gabapintin has worked better than any pain medicine I have take. There is still pain at times but the pain I do have for the most part is bearable. I love my Rheumy, she has been so caring during my trials with different meds and she takes the time to listen.  I continue to work in law enforcement, but fortunately I now work out of an office as a Lieutenant. I have found that the best way to keep moving, Is to keep moving. I walk every day and try to exercise as much as I can. Sure some days I can’t, but I get back up as soon as I can. I will not let this disease beat me! Houston area,
