A.S. Face 2118: Gloria Makosy

My name is Gloria Makosy. I’m 46 yo. I was diagnosed 10 years ago but I’ve had back pain since high school. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis and assumed that was the cause for all my pain. It wasn’t until I started having Raynauds that I went to see a rheumatologist. She was the doctor who finally discovered I had the gene and put me on sulfasalazine. Well, a couple years later my husband was diagnosed with colorectal cancer so I put all my time and energy into caring for him and stopped meds and dr visits for me. Three years since he’s passed, I’m now in a lot of pain. I have an appointment in a couple weeks but the pain is shooting all over my back and in my hips. My left foot where I had to had a titanium toe joint put in due to arthritis, hurts 24/7. The pain in my back right flank keeps me awake at night and hurts all the time. I’m frustrated and scared. I don’t want to not be able to workout anymore or become disabled. I want to be active with my family.
