A.S. Face 1767: Ron Demery
Been a long time comin. Many things to say never finding the words. My A.S. diagnosis was February 12 2009. Been in pain for about 8 mths just from lifting a small 32″ x 58″ window on a reno project. 8 months on workers comp. Used to be an avid runner boxer did karate,jui jit su now not able. My life changed so drastically. Had to go back to school learn a new profession and still trying to find my place. Having A.S. is torture but you adapt carry on as best as you can. now I am on Simponi injections. Without the great group of friends afflicted with this horrible disease I am not sure. I am a strong person but the pain and loss of friends could have pushed me to the edge or over it. For anyone reading this YOU are Not alone. Reach out with both hands and someone will reach back and hold on for a loving and wonderful group of friends anyone could ever ask for.
Stand Tall…….. we all are.
