I was diagnosed 5 years ago at the age of 51. After finding out why I hurt so
much, it was a relief to at least know what was wrong. Little did I know was
that things would keep getting worse. After reading up on AS, I put together
past medical issues that were all related to my new diagnosis. 20 some years
ago, I was experiencing severe back pain but the doctors could not figure it
out. I also had Iritis in 1995. Again no doctor could put two and two together.
I also learned that along with AS, I have RA and osteoarthritis. What a
trifecta. I felt very frustrated because nobody understood. I was very lucky to
find this group. It is nice to have another family. Especially made up of
everyone that gets me. Thank you to everyone for all of your posts. I've learned
a lot.
