A.S. Face 0906: Debby
Hey now! I’m Debby. I have a son and a grandaughter and AS. I’m 53 and have had 3 back surgeries. A few years ago, my hip actually hurt more than my back, but being stubborn, I just clinched my jaw, cracked 3 teeth and went on . Then my 33 year old son started having hip & back pain. He was diagnosed w/ AS and started embrel. I decided to get tested for the genetic marker-guess what-I have it. My right hip has already fused and cramps my style in a major way. I used to walk 5 miles a day-I’m down to 2 now. I love to garden and enjoy the outdoors, not so much anymore. I miss my old body, my old life, painfree days no longer exist for me. Persevere & endure-I’m going down fighting!!!
